Now, I want to be clear about who these people are. We offer different products for different surfaces, and not every PRO specializes in every product. A painter might have limewashed hundreds of brick exteriors yet never did an interior plaster wall, for example – and you want someone with experience for your project, right?

Our PROs are experienced professional applicators who genuinely love working with mineral-based paints, limewash, or plasters and have a proven track record with Romabio projects. So they understand how our paints behave differently from standard acrylics, and know the nuances of proper absorption or curing. 

We also include their social media links in that email, so you can scroll through their recent work right away. And I absolutely DO recommend doing that. Besides checking out the quality of their work first-hand, you’ll also get a quick sense of their style and the kind of projects they take on.

Reach out to all of them. I know that sounds like a lot, but talking to two or three PROs gives you a real comparison. Plus, you will have an alternative if it turns out your first pick is already booked out months in advance. Some of them may even email you first, which is a good sign. Don’t skip the on-site visit.

Once you have everything clear, pick your favorites and schedule an on-site estimate. Why this is important: a PRO can see things you might not have noticed, like the real porosity of your brick, or whether there’s an old sealer hiding under the surface, or moisture spots, or cracks. Be prepared to discuss the age and condition of your surface, any previous coatings or treatments, and the look you’re going for. Talk to them about the ideas and concerns you might have; they are there to help, and the more information they have, the better. 

After the visit, your PRO should send a proposal that spells out the scope of work, surface prep, which Romabio products they’re recommending (and why), timeline, pricing, and warranty details. 

Tip for Exterior Brick or Stone: If you are doing an exterior brick or stone project, make sure you talk about how they will prep the brick. Most painters will use bleach for cleaning, but we recommend using our Algae and Moss Cleaner for an eco-friendly prep. Apply it 2-3 days prior to painting. You might even want to do that step yourself to save the PRO time and your money.
