HOW TO CHOOSE COLORProduct Description
Velatura Mineralwash is an authentic mineral-based paint to create mottling or subtle movement effects for a limewash look on Interior drywall in two easy steps with no additional primer. An artistic applicator can paint soft tonal color variations in a brush-applied crosshatch technique for the 1st coat and can use varied techniques with a brush, cloth, or rag for the 2nd coat.

Application Requirements
- PREP Make sure the surface is clean and ready to be painted.
- 1st COAT: Apply undiluted or add up to 5% water in a crosshatch technique to fully cover the wall. Let dry to touch before next coat.
- 2nd COAT: Must dilute 50%-80% with water and then paint in crosshatch technique and use cloth technique if needed.
- TOOLS Apply with a brush for 1st Coat and brush and/or cloth for 2nd coat.
- DRY TIME 4-6 Hours
- TOUCH UPS Very flat finish.

What colors are available?

Can I use different colors for the 1st and 2nd coats during application?
Yes! This paint is intended for artistic effects so you can create the look you want with multiple colors. The options are endless. For lighter colors, using a 2nd coat that is a shade lighter will give the best results for showing movement. For instance, you won’t see much movement by using two coats of Nube Gray by itself, but you could use Bianco White for the 2nd coat to show some variation.
Is Velatura Mineralwash washable? Will it chalk off?
It will not chalk off, but it is also not stain-resistant and is not washable. Depending on the effect you've used, touch-ups can hide certain stains and wear. Otherwise, an edge-to-edge repaint may be needed.
Why is Velatura Mineralwash so dark when I apply it?
The paint may appear darker when applying but will dry lighter to the color tinted.
Do you recommend Classico Limewash or Velatura Mineralwash for interior walls?
While you can get beautiful results using Classico Limewash on your Interior drywall, the process requires a few products, additional steps, and your color choices are limited to light to medium light colors only. You’ll need one coat of MicroGrip Primer and at least two coats of Classico Limewash. Due to the slaked lime content, your finished wall may chalk off and is not as durable, so a protective topcoat may be required.
Velatura Mineralwash, is only a two-coat process, no primer needed even over existing paint, to produce the look of authentic limewash and with no chalking. It comes in an array of colors from light to dark.
Can I distress Velatura Mineralwash on Exterior Masonry like you can with Classico Limewash?
No, we recommend using Classico Limewash for distressing on Exterior masonry and Velatura Mineralwash to create movement effects on Interior drywall.
