Meet the 2nd lucky family.
As you may recall, we partnered with Holly Lauritzen of Our Faux Farmhouse back in January of 2021, never imagining that we’d be giving away two Grand Prizes! You can read about the first winners, the Cuthbertsons, here .
Today, we’re introducing our second winner, Amy McDaniel from St. Louis, MO, who captured our hearts with her desire to transform and preserve a beautiful, hand-built, brick farmhouse.
When Amy entered Romabio’s Grand Prize Exterior Home Makeover Giveaway, she knew her farmhouse was the perfect project but felt the chance of winning was a longshot. Tens of thousands of Our Faux Farmhouse Instagram followers were entering every day. But the McDaniel family had just rescued a beautiful farmhouse on 53 acres in the outskirts of St. Louis, MO, and Amy was determined to give it some TLC and turn it into their forever home.
Then she found out Romabio chose not one but TWO winners – and she was the second one!
Amy knew it was a special win not just for her family, but for the original owners of the brick farmhouse. You see, the home was carefully built by hand by the owner/husband who was a farmer and a brick mason by trade.
Amy eagerly called the previous owner, who is now in a nursing home, to let her know the farmhouse would receive the perfect makeover. The widow was overjoyed to learn her family’s much-loved farmhouse was a giveaway winner! Knowing that Romabio would transform the unique farmhouse into the McDaniel Family’s dream, forever home was celebrated by the past and present owners!
“Being chosen was truly the biggest blessing we have ever received!” – Amy McDaniel
Amy worked closely with Romabio Preferred PRO Carly Berger of Hunted Home Paint in St. Louis to carefully choose the final color and finish.
“Our Romabio PRO, Carly of Hunted Home Paint, is an artist with her vision and her paintbrush. She knew exactly how use Romabio Paints to bring out the most in our forever home and we are just so grateful for her expertise!”
Opting for a traditional, antique farmhouse aesthetic to compliment the age of the home and highlight its many archways, Amy and Carly chose Romabio Classico Limewash in Avorio White. The trim features Romabio Celtic Stone, Satin Exterior.
Classico Limewash in Avorio White was also used to update the interior stone fireplace to ensure it matched the exterior’s front stone accents, creating a cohesive, updated look.
We can’t tell you how excited we are to become part of this amazing farmhouse’s story.
