There isn’t much of a contrast here. One covers skin, the other covers walls. Common words associated with both: healthy feeling, good for you. Last but not least, they both contain calcium silicates derived from Limestone.

I was doing some research on the mineral makeup at, where you can shop, learn more about their products and see lists of ingredients. There was a statement made about how women responded to the makeup, “It became less about the makeup and more about what really matters”.

With mineral based wall coverings, it is about what really matters; healthy indoor environment, wellbeing, and virtually no chemicals, noVOCs, no APEO (preservatives used to keep diluted paints from degrading in cans, i.e., paint ready to use), no PEG (preservatives used to bond acrylic molecules in acrylic paints).

The silicates found in the mineral makeup are calcium silicates which are defined by wikipedia as “a white powder with low bulk density and high water absorbency; an anti-caking agent; an antacid; derived from limestone. “ Wikipedia also mentioned that limestone has no adverse effects on your health.

The calcium silicates in lime mineral paints and plasters, as well as potassium silicates in potassium silicate paints, are highly alkaline and prevent the growth of bacteria that forms mold. These are products that are made from Nature, and are completely eco-sustainable because not only are they made from natural ingredients, they do not cause damage to the environment during extraction, manufacturing, application, or disposal.

It is no surprise that I drew a correlation here, your walls are like the skin of your house and they should be able to breathe. Mineral based paints calcify by absorbing the CO2 created by it’s inhabitants. They are also able to slowly remove the toxins inside your home.

Its comforting to know that ROMA is not the only company out there who realizes the advantages of the earth’s natural ingredients.
