1. What is mineral paint? This type of paint is exactly as its name describes – a solution derived from the earth’s natural minerals as a way to create colorful paints without the use of harmful chemicals. It sounds useful and eco friendly, so why replace it?

There are various common myths about mineral paint that may be keeping you from utilizing it, but we’ve come here to debunk them. Here are those misconceptions, followed by why mineral paint does make a great option.

Myth 1: Mineral Paint and Chalk Paint are the Same

While mineral and chalk paint are comparable in texture, these two options are not one and the same. Chalk paint is most recognizable for its matte finish and appearance, while mineral paint can come in different sheens, can be made for different substrates like drywall, siding, brick, or stone, and is durable enough for the Exterior unlike milk paints that use casein as the binder.

Myth 2: Mineral Paint Isn’t Durable

This is completely untrue! Mineral paint is more durable than any other paint for mineral based surfaces like brick, stone or concrete.
